Oriental medicine is one of the oldest codified systems of medicine in the world. It is a different healing system from the American or Western forms of healthcare.
Oriental Medicine is built on the concepts of “Yin and Yang” and “Five elements” and “Qi“(energy). This system has been in existence for over 2 decades. However, it’s a timeless bridge that can initiate and empower our life at physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual forms at any age.
Yin and Yang
The “Yin-Yang” is a symbol of balance and harmony between two opposing forces. These forces are pervasive in our immune system, where the balance between regulatory T cells and reactive cells is important in maintaining homeostasis.
Scientifically, the concept of “Yin and Yang” has been found on the interplay between host immunity and Epstein-Barr virus (called human herpesvirus 4, is known as the cause of infectious mononucleosis, its symptoms including fatigue, fever, rash, and swollen glands).
Besides, Pro-staglandin receptor EP2 (Problems with prostaglandins can limit the healing process, cause increased inflammation and pain, and impact your overall health) in the cross-hairs of anti-inflammation, anti-cancer, and neuro-protection is showing the important Yin-Yang balance function, too.
Five Elements
Five elements Theory is a powerful fundamental treatment philosophy in Oriental medicine. It originated from Four seasons’ characteristics (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter), and had been widespread and applied to Chinese medicine, Fengshui, Qi-Gong, several martial arts. These Five elements are believed to be the primary elements of everything in the universe between which interactions occur. They represent the relationship between all of acupuncture meridians all over our body.
Qi
It is the circulating life force whose existence and properties are the basis of Chinese medicine philosophy. It could be interpreted as a vital energy. In Chinese medicine, its circulation leads our blood circulation.
